Embodiment practice: Resetting the breath
Tune into the natural rhythm of the breath for clarity and focus.
The breath is a sacred phenomenon in many (if not all) cultures across the world. Breathing is an essential part of life. Not only does our breath transport and exchange vital gases within the body, but it also connects us to our external environment.
One way that we can fortify this connection, as well as our resilience, is to work with the breath. Breathwork is one way to practice embodiment, which can help to unlock and unpack emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical patterns.
There are many techniques that have been developed and utilized for thousands of years. In today’s practice, we’ll focus on resetting the breath through a rhythmic, wave-like pattern. This method can help to clear the mind, relax the body, reduce stress, and improve focus.
As always, I encourage you to get curious and to trust yourself in the process. Personally, I find that this technique is an accessible way to come back into alignment, especially in moments when I feel overwhelmed, anxious, or afraid.
Find a soft, safe place to land, and let’s begin.
